Valentine's Day Baking with Shēdo Lane

Hey friends! Happy Valentine's Day! If you are anything like us then you love, love, love Valentine’s Day! There is just something about the cheesy cards, red and pink flowers, and heart shaped boxes of chocolate that just makes you smile. While the store-bought candy and treats are good, sometimes it’s fun to make a treat from home.

We decided to share one of our favorite DIY treats for Valentine’s Day! Below you will find the directions to make easy chocolate covered wafer cookies!

Ingredients/Supplies:

  • White melting chocolate (or whatever chocolate you prefer)
  • Wafer cookies, preferably pink
  • Selection of Valentine’s Day sprinkles or other toppings of choice
  • Parchment or wax paper

Directions:

Step 1: Melt your chocolate according to package directions. If there are no directions, a good rule of thumb is to microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat as necessary until melted.

Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to prevent cookies from sticking to the cookie sheet.

Step 3: Dip the top half of the wafer cookie into the melted chocolate.

Step 4: Sprinkle toppings of choice onto the cookie while the chocolate is still soft.

Step 5: Place cookies onto baking sheet to set until firm.

We love this treat because it is so fun and easily customizable. If you aren’t a fan of sprinkles, try using shredded coconut, drizzling dark chocolate, or chopped nuts. Swap out the pink cookies for a flavor of your choice! We hope you enjoy this sweet Valentine’s Day treat!

XO,
